Caribbean Island Experience
PrimeOne Tours offers catamaran tours from Cancun to Isla Mujeres, the most beautiful island in the Mexican Caribbean. Located just 11 kilometers off the Cancun coast, Isla Mujeres is a 7-kilometer-long island with white-sand beaches, car-free streets, and turquoise water over one of the healthiest coral reefs in the region. Our tours include snorkeling at the El Meco reef, open bar on board, beach access on the island, and the option of a buffet or gourmet meal. Choose our group catamaran tour from $79 per adult, or add hotel pickup and drop-off for $99 per adult.
Isla Mujeres sits at a unique geographic point where the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea meet the cooler currents of the Gulf of Mexico. This combination creates exceptional water clarity and a thriving marine ecosystem. The reef surrounding the island is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef — the second-largest barrier reef system in the world, stretching from Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula to Honduras.

El Meco is one of the most accessible quality snorkel sites near Cancun. Unlike snorkel tours that bus you to managed cenotes, the open ocean reef environment is dynamic and genuinely wild. The reef is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef system and supports a dense community of marine life: parrotfish, sergeant major fish, blue tang, barracuda, moray eels, and regularly sighted sea turtles.
Our catamaran anchors here for a guided 30 to 40 minute snorkel session before continuing to the island. Snorkel equipment is provided. Life vests are available for non-swimmers who prefer to observe from the deck.
Playa Norte is at the northernmost tip of Isla Mujeres. The water is protected from the Atlantic swells by the curve of the island, making it extraordinarily calm. The sand is white and fine. The water is a clear turquoise that deepens gradually — perfect for swimming, floating, and wading.
Sun loungers and beach facilities are available nearby. Free time on the island is typically 1.5 to 2 hours, which is enough time to walk the beach, grab a fresh coconut from a beach vendor, and explore the start of Hidalgo Avenue.

Everything you need to know before booking your Isla Mujeres catamaran tour
Isla Mujeres is 11 kilometers from the Cancun Hotel Zone coast. The catamaran crossing takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes. The journey itself is part of the experience — watching the Cancun skyline recede and the island emerge from the turquoise water is a beautiful moment on a clear day.
Both tours offer the same catamaran experience: El Meco reef snorkeling, open bar, beach access on Isla Mujeres, and the return sail. The group tour requires you to make your own way to the departure marina in Cancun. The tour with transportation includes hotel pickup and drop-off from your Cancun or Riviera Maya hotel. If you are comfortable getting to the marina (taxi, bus, or Uber), the group tour saves you $20 per person. If you prefer door-to-door service, the transportation option is worth the upgrade.
Yes. The open bar is included on both tour options and is active from the moment you board until you disembark. It typically includes Mexican spirits (tequila, rum, vodka), beer, wine, soft drinks, juices, and water. Specific brands and cocktail availability vary by catamaran.
Yes. Life vests are provided for everyone who enters the water, including non-swimmers. Our guide and crew are present at the snorkel stop. Non-swimmers who do not want to enter the water can observe from the catamaran deck. Snorkeling at El Meco requires basic comfort in the water — you float on the surface, no diving required.
